Stop trying to make everyone like you

‘Nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent.’ – Eleanor Roosevelt

Do you like everyone you meet? Probably not! No one does. Knowing this, then why should you expect everyone to like you?

Many of us have the most trouble with this when it comes to family and friends. The hard truth is that sometimes your relationship with certain people will never be as close as you want or need. What’s the answer? Find other people to achieve the closeness you desire.

You give your power away when you become too concerned with other people’s opinions of you. When we try too hard to please others we open ourselves to abuse. Don’t let others determine your self-worth, so form your own opinion of yourself. True confidence and power comes from within.

Be cool and be a person who does not try to make everyone like you, but rather a person who relies on just being yourself. You do this because you understand the impossibility of having everyone like you and to reduce stress in your social activities. Rather focus on being a laidback person who is interested in other people. This is quite effortless and I guarantee you will attract people like a magnet.

‘It’s not who you are that holds you back, it’s who you think you’re not.’
